WHAT’S NEW IN FINCON 5.286.004
Version 5.286.001-004:
- The way file names for stock pictures is determined has been changed to ensure that the file name is unique. The subfolder counters can be rebuilt with the Stock Rebuild function if necessary. NOTE: FinconRESTServer and FinconTransExport (if in use) must be upgraded to Version 5.286.002 or higher to ensure stock pictures are retrieved and/or saved correctly.
- The options to include stock item properties, serial numbers, account or originating item numbers and alternate descriptions have been added for invoices and credit notes to be attached to Debtor Statements.
- Options with regards to the encryption and permissions of PDF documents generated by Fincon have been added. Refer to Company Parameters (Security/PDF Documents) for more information. NOTE: FinconRESTServer and FinconDocMail (if in use) must be upgraded to Version 5.286.002 or higher to fully implement this feature.
- The option to include in stock, on order and on backorder quantities per selected location has been added to the Price List
- The default setting for “Log Quotations, Orders and Invoices” for new debtor accounts can be set in Company Parameters (Security/Global Settings/Credit Checking & Accounts).
- The full detail of a promotional price (applicable to quotations, sales orders and invoices) is now displayed in addition to the on-order information when pressing Alt+O or Ctrl+O.
- The ability to add URL links to selected layouts has been added. to Company Parameters (Links) and Form Designer for more information. NOTE: FinconRESTServer and FinconDocMail (if in use) must be upgraded to Version 5.286.002 or higher to fully implement this feature.
- The option to use a default item number has been added to invoices and credit notes imported from an external source. Refer to Invoice Import File Definition, Import Invoices, Credit Note Import File Definition and Import Credit notes (System/Import Utilities/External Documents) for more information.
- The option to swop items booked in from consignment stock on Customer Repair Orders has been added. Refer to Company Parameters (Global Settings/Workshop) for more information.

- The functionality to specify margins for stock items has been added to Debtor Price List Maintenance. NOTE: FinconRESTServer (if in use) must be upgraded to Version 5.286.004 or higher to fully implement this feature.
Version 5.285.001-004:
- Invoices, credit notes, branch transfer debit notes and branch transfer GRVs for selected local currency accounts can be exported to another company on the same server. Refer to the Exports tab on Debtor Account Maintenance and Creditor Account Maintenance as well as View Debtor Transaction Export Log, View Creditor Transaction Export Log and View Import Log under System/Transaction Export Logs for more information. NOTE: You will need the Fincon background utility FinconTransExport to fully implement this feature.
- The generation of CRM output files has been added to invoices, credit notes and sales orders imported from an external source. Refer to Invoice Import File Definition, Import Invoices, Credit Note Import File Definition, Import Credit notes, Sales Order Import File Definition, Import Sales orders (System/Import Utilities/External Documents) and Company Parameters (CRM Output on the Security tab) for more information.
- Remarks and cost centers can be selected to be included as comments on the invoice. Refer to Contract Maintenance and Item Maintenance for more information.
- The cheque field has been added to List Purchase Orders.
- The option to print approved purchase orders has been added to Approve Purchase Orders.
- A field for an email address has been added to Sales Rep Maintenance.
- The supplier rebate for type 5 items can be defined per account. Refer to Stock Maintenance, Export Data (Stock Equivalents, Account Items, Supplier Rebates) and Import Stock Barcodes and References for more information.
- The Supplier Rebate Enquiry function has been added to list rebate transactions per supplier.
- Comments can be added to invoices, sales orders and expenses imported from an external source. Refer to Import Invoices, Import Sales orders and Import Expenses (System/Import Utilities/External Documents) for more information.
- An import function has been added to Adjust Consignment Stock.
- The customer reference has been added as an export option. Refer to the Exports tab on Debtor Account Maintenance for more information.

- The option to enter a positioning value for the required item number to be scanned has been added to Scan Serial Numbers for GRVs.

- The account category has been added to creditors. Refer to Creditor Account Maintenance, Export Data and Import Creditor Accounts for more information.
- The ^ (Caret) character can be used as a line break in fault, diagnosis, work done, notes and reject fields. Refer to Enter CRO for more information.
- The stock location on purchase orders can be changed with Update Records.
- Email Adress 1 and Email Address 2 have been added to the Dormant Debtor List.
- The number of lines on Adjust Consignment Stock. has been increased to 1000 lines.
- The import function on Rebate Debit Notes now accepts negative amounts.
- Import Stock Items, Import Debtor Accounts, Import Creditor Accounts and Import Ledger Accounts have been reworked to update selected fields only.
- Entries are added into the transaction log when receipts are deleted or when cash payments are cancelled. It can be viewed with View Transaction Log.
- Deleted, undeposited and receipts reversed by bank reconciliations as well as the information pertaining to the user that last amended the receipt can now be viewed with View Payment Allocations.
- The stock group and stock brand options have been added to Sales List and Sales Analysis.
Version 5.284.001-003:
- A maximum quantity to qualify for a promotional price can be entered. Refer to Stock Maintenance and Company Parameters (Global Settings/Stock) for more information. The field has been added to Export Data (Stock Promotions), Import Stock Promotional Prices and Update Records.
- The delivery method is displayed when importing Sales Orders.
- The option to override the minimum purchase quantity has been added. Refer to Users and Passwords (Other) for more information.
- The assembly flag has been added to Outstanding Sales Orders.
- The Reason for Credit Note field has been added to Invoice Margins per Period and Detail Sales Information Export.

- The maximum number of lines on a Bill of Material was increased to 500. NOTE: FinconRESTServer (if in use) must be upgraded to Version 5.283.001 or higher to be compatible.
- Normal stock can be transferred to supplier stock. Refer to Users and Passwords and Stock Type Transfers for more information.
- The financial year-end month can be selected in Company Parameters (Details) in order to display the corresponding calendar month in period descriptions.
- The option to set the work done for out-of-box-failures has been added to Complete CRO.
- An entry is added into the transaction log when amounts are moved to another account with Unallocate/Move Payments, Cheques and Bank Transfers. It can be viewed with View Transaction Log.
- The layout for Customer Support Calls was added to the documents that can receive signatures. Refer to Form Designer for more information.
- The option to exclude decommissioned items has been added to Contract Escalation.

- The stock location can be selected in the Locate Serial Number

Version 5.282.001-002:
- The options to add additional supporting documents to customer repair orders and signed documents for quotations, consignment transfers and invoices have been added. - View Document Mail Log has been updated to accommodate signature requirements on documents.
- The fields added to debtor accounts were also added to Export Data, Import Debtor Accounts and Update Records.
- Enter CRO (Documents) and View CRO (Documents) have been changed to accommodate the additional supporting documents.
- Signature areas and related fields were added to the applicable form layouts. Refer to Form Designer for more information.
- Attached supporting documents will be removed when cancelling a quotation and when executing the purge functions for quotations and customer repair orders.
- A list of supporting documents per quotation is displayed and can be viewed in List Quotations and Outstanding Quotations.
- The menu for Supporting Documents was restructured. Please refer to Users and Passwords to adjust the access rights for users if necessary.
- All comments inserted in quotations, orders, invoices, etc. can contain upper- and lowercase characters. The same applies to predefined comments.
- The company registration number has been added to Account Detail (Debtors).
- The option to add a new company using Fincon’s installation values has been added to Company Maintenance. Refer to Add Company for more information. NOTE: Exclusive access to the source company is no longer needed if “Retain Data” is not selected.
- The option to include undeposited payments if a previous period is selected, has been added to Debtor Age Analysis, Debtor Statements and Debtor Statement Enquiry. Be aware that undeposited payments are not linked to a specific period and can therefore include payments for future transactions. This will result in incorrect balances and ageing on the debtors and statements.
- An option to retrieve and display the remark from the transfer document has been added to List Stock Location Transfers, List WIP Stock Transfers and Consignment Transactions.
- Document reprint and Debtor Statements (when invoices are attached to the statements) will adhere to the Default to “Print Group Descriptions” setting in Company Parameters/Global Settings/General.
